ZitatAimia Plunges as Nectar Program Sold at `Remarkably Low' Price
By Kristine Owram
(Bloomberg) -- Aimia tumbles as much as 29 percent, the most since May, after selling its Nectar loyalty program to Sainsbury for a "remarkably low" price, according to National Bank analyst Adam Shine (underperform, PT C$1.50).
Gross proceeds are C$105m but net cash to AIM CN appears to be only C$34m (AIM CN acquired Nectar for C$775m in 2007)Smaller sale amount "materially impacts Aimia’s stock"; analyst estimates lost value per share at C$0.84-C$0.95
AIM CN will report 4Q results on Feb. 14
Edit 2:
Aus dem Quartalbericht:
ZitatAimia may be required to provide rewards to members for unexpired Loyalty Units accounted for as Breakage on the Loyalty Units issued to date for which the revenue has been recognized or deferred and for which no liability has been recorded. The potential redemption cost for such Loyalty Units is estimated to be $764.3 million at September 30, 2017. The potential redemption costs, noted above, have been calculated on the basis of the current average redemption cost, reflecting actual prices with Redemption Partners, including Air Canada, and the experienced mix of the various types of rewards that members have selected, based on past experience. Management has calculated that the cumulative effect of a 1% change in Breakage in each individual program would have a consolidated impact on revenue and earnings before income taxes of $207.5 million for the period in which the change occurred, with $194.4 million relating to prior years and $13.1 million relating to the current nine month period.
Da sind Verischerungsrückstellungen ja direkt transparent.....
